Soda Machine
Thursday, July 26th, 2007We have vending machines at work, in lieu of a real cafeteria, which have the frequent habit of jamming, and cheating folks out of their snacky foods/sodas. Seems like every day at least once somebody loses it and gets medievil on the machines, making slamming and pounding sounds you can hear through the whole building!! Basically it sounds like the events depicted above are going down…..
This is my very first complete comic composed entirely in vector graphics (SVG). Actually, I find its a much more flexible and useful system for this work, since it lets me infinitely scale things, and my artwork comes out all nice and clean and neat :-) That’s some tasty awesomesauce!
We had a great time this past weekend at Otakon, handed out lots of flyers, business cards, and even sold a few t-shirts and stickers, all in all a great start for the comic. I’m also seeing a bump in traffic, so several of you fine folks I got to meet and give our URL to at Otakon have stopped by to visit, WELCOME!! :-) Hopefully we are worth visiting again, I promise it will only get better!!!! I am going to try to be at both Zenkaikon and Tandokucon soon also, since they are in the Philadelphia area that should be do-able, though I hear Zenkaikon is filling up fast, so I hope I can still snag a table or something!!
Part of the reason I spent the past several days learning to use vector graphics, is at the second-hand suggestion of the guy who does inhislikeness, which is a neat comic, the creator of which I got to meet and speak with at Otakon as well. A friend of mine spoke with him also and picked up the idea of using vector graphics, which also seems to be working out very nicely for my art style. I personally got lots of solid ideas about how to market the comic and what to bring to a Con. He’s a sharp dude, and has been at this for some time with a lot of success, so I very much appreciate the advice
Hope to meet more cool people at the next 2 cons!!
